B.D.B places the highest degree of importance on meeting and exceeding standards in relation to Health, Safety, Environment and Quality control.

BDB understand the need for robust management procedures to provide a consistent framework throughout all of our activities. Auditing and target setting give us the means of understanding our business and improving the efficiency of our work methods. Through the development of our QESH (SHEQ) systems we have found safeguards for both our own employees and all who are affected by our activities and a means of ensuring sustainability in our business.

B.D.B’s policies processes, procedures, controlling measures and monitoring practises have been developed and implemented to maintain full compliance with statutory regulations including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulation 1999, Construction (Design and Management) Regulation 2015, etc.

B.D.B has sought external accreditation of our systems to demonstrate compliance and commitment.


Health

B.D.B acknowledges the importance of maintaining the welfare of its employees, as well as contractors, visitors and those that could be affected by our undertakings.

Health also relates to the wellbeing of the client’s site operatives along with local residents and the fauna and flora within the project and the surrounding areas. Appropriate guidelines, steps, information, monitoring and assessments are undertaken to not only ensure the wellbeing of operatives but also anyone/thing that could be affected by our undertakings.


Safety

B.D.B Dismantling Limited’s commitment to Safety relates directly to providing a safe place of work, the pursuit of a state where the risk of harm has been eliminated, reduced or controlled to an acceptable level.

The management of Safety and the management systems within BDB Dismantling Limited have been developed around and generated through the definition of responsibilities detailed in the company’s Health and Safety General Policy. A Safe System of Work in the form of management tools has been developed through the use of control documents, checklists, audit sheets and permit processes to ensure consistency across all of our activities. Audit systems have been installed and targets set to establish a platform for continuous development within the company.

A Safety Culture has been developed and can be witnessed in our achievement in being awarded the British Ceramic Confederation: Ceramic Industry Health & Safety Pledge Contractors Award 2007 (www.ceramfed.co.uk)

The Workplace Environment, which relates to the general condition in the immediate vicinity of the workplace itself, lighting, noise, heat ventilation.

The External Environment, which relates to pollution of, or damage to, the air, land, water and living creatures outside of the workplace, insofar as they may be affected by our workplace activities, i.e. the environmental impacts of such activities.

B.D.B Dismantling Limited continually assess the environmental impact of our undertakings both within the office facilities and on site, where we look to minimise the environmental impact of out activities at all times. B.D.B is committed to the continuous development of processes and procedures. We run an Environmental Management System that meets the standards of ISO 14001:2015.

Waste: It is BDB Dismantling’s policy to minimise waste from our activities going to landfill by segregation, reuse and recycling. We possess a valid Waste Carriers License with the Environment Agency
